I disagree, as long as they’re healthy, active and not overweight, I see no problem with it. I’m not forcing them to eat or feeding them growth hormones. They’re just constantly hungry. (Even with as much as I feed them now, you’d think they were starving.) I have lots of other kinds of turtles that grow much faster in my care than they would have in the wild. (Although not as fast as the diamondbacks.) I’ve seen no adverse effects or suffering. I’m curious how everyone else feels. I know my growth is faster than most, but judging from Vickie’s photos, her diamondbacks look to be growing about 5 inches in the first year. I know Rick’s grow about that much in the first year.
