You bring up a good point about the hibernation, Chun. Mine are kept inside year round with heated water, so their metabolism never slows down. This makes it easy to see how a captive diamondback would grow twice as fast as a wild one who hibernates. Of course, wild diamondbacks also have to locate and catch their food, which may not always be available. This obviously limits the amount they can eat. Suppose a wild diamondback has easy access to as much food as he desires. With their insatiable appetite, I bet the results would be very similar to our captive friends. Just more to think about.
