Flukers are definitely not as popular as T-Rex pellets in my tanks. The Flukers are getting picked at by the smaller turtles, like you say. But my smaller turtles go nuts over T-Rex juvenile pellets. I have 50 lb sacks of T-Rex juvenile and adult pellets coming next week, so am just trying the Flukers this week on everyone. All of my adult turtles seem to be going for the Flukers, though, as they just gulp them down whole. All of my dbts are on pellets except those two monster wildcaught females. The Northern came around this spring and now takes popcorn shrimp, octopus, and smelt like the old centrata. So no more fresh oysters, thank goodness! Both now do the SHAMU show and leap out of the water to snag whatever is offered on the end of a toothpick. But no pellets. I took them off feed for two weeks while on vacation (can’t trust the turtle sitter not to overfeed the aquatics so everyone went on a little diet 🙂 – no problems, thank goodness) and thought that might get them hungry enough for pellets – but no luck. I keep sliding pellets into the bellies of the smelt, but they still show no interest in pellets alone. Regarding Reptomin, I saw some new Reptomin stock in small jars at a local reptile store that had a different label on it – looked like a German product. Perhaps that is the first stock to get back into the US distribution channels? I have seen 2.5 lb boxes of Reptomin still sitting on the shelves at Petsmart and Petco stores here. Runs a little high at $30.00 to $40.00 or more, but there still is some old stock out there, especially in the larger box size. Thanks for the show report. Anyone else have positive or negative show reports for turtles at shows? Does any show have more turtles than the August Daytona show I keep hearing about (albeit no dbts due to the Florida location 🙁 )? Todd in Texas cap@… wrote:
