In my experience with Ornate eggs they feel fairly firm if fertile. They may be slighty soft and dented when first layed but will round out and firm up if fertile. Sometimes right before they hatch they may seem slightly soft and possibly have drops of moisture on them. Mine have all hatched at aproximately 56-59 days. Hope this helps. Vickie
