I know what you are talking about. I have seen it on many of my Graptemys I have had. I have also seen it on wild caught pseudemys and other emydids. Not as frequent on DBTS, although the adult male I have has this to a light degree now. I have not seen health problems with it, just aestetics or however you spell it.
