I’ve had a Magnum 350 with a bio-wheel on a 75 gallon for almost two years now. I also addded an Eheim in-tank filter with rock media that adds a lot of biological capacity that the Magnum lacks. The Magnums seem to be well-built, but the newer Fluval and other brand canisters appear easier to maintain and promise internal biological. Anyone tried the new Hagen Fluval canisters or other brands? The Magnum really works well with a brand new filter sleeve or the polishing cartridge but then drops off rapidly as debris builds up inside. I’ve been able to wash and reuse the filter sleeves about three times before their efficiency drops way off. peep2339@… wrote:
