Chun- we currently keep one male retic (and one giant snake is all I will allow) we make sure and handle this guy daily to keep him tame. you want nothing to be on the receiving end of a 16-20 python. We know what to expect out of an animal that large and have the room and the ability to take care of him into late adulthood. I do not think though retics should be offered in pet stores as first snakes (like African rock pythons and Burmese and green anacondas). People see a cute “little baby snake” and think wow how cute and little, yet do not realize these guys grow to be monsters, We have been keeping snakes for several years now and this is our first giant snake, after much research. I would love to see retics in their natural habitat, but I’m afraid as people move in and by slash and burn methods, I won’t. I do envy you Chun. If you ever come across pics of your home and the landscape please post. -robin p.s. if you would like to see a picture of our retic here he is.. his name is Tic http://a3.cpimg.com/image/65/76/5900133-56e0-016901C8-.jpg most recent picture http://a2.cpimg.com/image/80/0C/2920832-bdf4-01E00280-.jpg he has grown a foot or two since this photo
