Ouch!! I just lost a razorback musk turtle that I had for five years. He was in the four foot section of the new pond (two weeks new)and it appeared that he drowned. I had watched him swim bottom to surface several times and felt confident he could handle it in warm weather. I dug deep to help moderate the pond temperature. Rick: How deep are your active ponds? Any suggestions for making my four foot deep section safe in the winter (without filling it in)? Ive considered building a ramp out of rocks, logs, or 2×4 pine.
