Rowena, I have my baby turtles indoors but fairly close to the sliding glass door that goes outside and I don’t heat their tank. They only have the heat from the basking light. The water feels cool but not really cold. I haven’t checked the temp. but they seem just fine and are growing. Is your dbt eating? They tend to not eat if they are too cold. One of the signs that a female is gravid is that she will bask alot and another is that she may act like she wants out of the tank more than anything. You would need to set up a tub with damp sand for her to lay in that is also deep enough that she can’t climb out. Scott has alot of experience with indoor dbts laying so maybe he will have some suggestions for you. Someone else will have to comment on the Aquaclear. Sad to hear about the frozen dbts at the Asian grocery. ๐ Vickie
