I received 2 Carolinas last week. They are eating just fine. However, they won’t go up on the basking area. Water temp is 80-82. Basking area is heated by Zoomed 75w heating bulb. The area is pretty quiet. Is this just shyness? Is my water too warm?

The basking area is indeed accessible to the hatchlings. It is a gently sloping plexiglass shelf that is partially submerged in the water. All the hatchlings have to do is walk up.
Could the plexiglass ramp be too slippery? Vickie
Don’t think so; have used it for years without fail. The angle of slant is very slight. Also, the hatchlings don’t even seem to be trying to go up to the basking area.
