Please comment on this treatment. i.e. what is trade name Potassiun Permanganate. Thanks FUNGUS: Aquatic turtles are very prone to fungal infections. The most common and easiest treated is a white ‘woolly’ fungus that grows over the turtles shell and body. It can also be present in the turtles tank. Most fungus external fungus infections can be cured by simply giving the animal a bath in a Potassiun Permanganate solution. Make a strong solution by dissolving 1 tsp of the chrystals into 1 pint of water. Further dilute the liquid by puting 2 tsps of the Potassium Permanganate mixture to each pint of water and bathe the turtle in it. The solution will also kill internal and external parasites. Keep the turtle in the bath solution for at least 15 minutes before taking it out and placing him in another container. Ensure that the turtle is completey dry before returning it back into the tank. If the fungus is present in the tank, clean it with the Potassium Permanganate solution. “The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.” “he who knows best knows how little he knows.”

MacrospilotaJune 5, 2001 at 9:34 am #14969About the only thing that would kill me faster than Bufo marinum or how ever you spell it would be KMnO4 or potassium permanganate. This would hardly be a less potent treatment. I would not used this in any kind of concentration. An effective poison. BBM — In diamondbackterrapins@y…, “Chun-Ming Chew”
