Yes, pink, brown, red, etc. Aquamax also leaves a significant amount of “grit” in my tanks after passing through the turtles. I bought two of the 0.5 lb canisters of the Mazuri aquatic turtle to try. Same size pellets. Brown in color. I’ve been testing this small sample in a tank that I cleaned and changed the water completely out on one week ago. So far, only normal minor discoloration/yellowing of the water using only a sponge powerhead type filter (no carbon or other filter media in this set up) that would require only a partial water change weekly. So, I think the aquatic turtle diet would be very handy for inside tanks and smaller outside tanks where the Aquamax is leaving color and residue problems. Surely Mazuri could offer this in 5 lb or 10 lb consumer sizes, too? And then make the 50 lb sacks available on a pre-order basis to their dealer so that they could ship small lots of bags out whenever they fire up their mixer for a zoo order or to fill 0.5 lb canisters, couldn’t they?
