Fw: terrapin health assessment

Chun – your direct address is not working! terrapins are each yearling visually according to the advice of our volunteer vet. This year we will liberate over 100 terrapins back to their natal waters. Another agency with the Department of Natural Resources is recommending a more thorough health check prior to release to the wild. This would be fine with us as we welcome the additional screening except that it would cost $85 dollars a terrapin and may not be necessary since this animal has been farmed extensively before and revealed no health problems. Currently our program of head-start cost us nothing as the participants pay for all the rearing expenses. An expense of this magnitute could very well shut us down since we cannot expect our current vet to incur this additional effort. recommended protocol for your review later.
