I am new to this forum. I am very interested in starting a tank with a Diamondback Terrapin. I have had a Red Eared Slider for over a year and a half, and am very pleased with him. I recently started a much larger tank and decided to add another turtle to my tank. I have done some research, and decided to go with a Diamondback. I am looking for suggestions on getting one. I would like a young one to start with, as I’d enjoy watching it grow. I live in Central PA, and was considering having one shipped to me. Has anyone had experience with this? Can you suggest a place to get one? Thanks for your help

Yes, look at http://www.geocities.com/dterrapin and go to the breeders section and you will find some terrapins for sale. I am not an expert on this, but isn’t putting two different species together like a Diamondback and a RES togther not the healthiest thing to do? I think it has something to do with the different pathogens and resistance to diseases the different species posess. Again, I am not exactly sure about this and I could be completely wrong. Maybe someone with a little more knowledge could elaborate on this (or correct me if I’m wrong)? ShannonGet your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
