The key to keeping Africans is to supply a lot of cover. They like to have their own little “cave” to live in. I keep a lot of clay pots, and slate in with my Africans. They generally stay on the lower half of my tank and my DBT resides in the upper half. He occational will explore down towards the bottom, but the Africans just stay out of his way. What kind of cichlids were you keeping, Jonathon? If they were other then Africans, say a Jack Dempsey, these guys get pretty large and pretty aggressive. I could definately picture one picking on your DBT. I think Chun mentioned the “peacock” species of African…they can be a brilliant bright blue. (Amongst other colors as well) Very nice looking fish. I’ve never kept one, but I may go get one now that I’m reminded of them. (AND SINCE !!My wife just gave me “permission” to set up another 55 gallon tank in my house!!) What fun…Now I can get another DBT! _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
