Today’s show in Houston had two vendors offering dbts. Troy Charles from New Orleans came over with some nice “Southern” dbt hatchlings. He believes they are mostly or all littoralis from the Gulf around the Louisiana area. They did not appear to have much or any pileata in them as first suspected, but that wll remain open for debate. Troy has a few lighter ones left and a good supply of darker ones. Some have nice plastron patterns. All had some knobs on the shell but no extreme knobs as seen on some of the Texas. Troy lists on the TurtleTimes site. Our own Rick Van Dyke had northerns, chesapeake northerns, and Texas hatchlings. The Chesapeake northerns are screamers with white heads with tear drops, zebra striped bellies and very clear concentrics on light shells. He has a good supply of “regular” northerns, some of which are pretty light and have some plastron patterns. He has some light and some darker Texas, a few with extra large knobs. He was also offering some regular northern juveniles (1.5 to 3 inches), some young female northerns (4 inches or so) and adult Texas and Chesapeake males. He might even have a macro or two still available. Get in touch with him now while the selection is good. He is headed to the show at Dallas next weekend. Anyone else have any show reports?
