Robin; I am feeding out 75 lbs. of Flukers aquatic turtle diet now. I found I could order it directly from the manufacturer freight free in 25 lb sacks if I ordered at least $125.00 worth of merchandise. It has red and tan pellets, fairly large. They seem a little soft and crumbly. They have a little fruity smell to them. They are high on the grain filler that Scott notes. But they have been readily accepted by nearly all my turtles including box turtles. Purchased in the bulk sack, this is one of the least expensive foods available. I have seen good growth and no shell problems. I am also feeding T-Rex Juvenile aquatic diet as I found a bulk source for this on the internet. I have raised the last three years of juveniles on T-Rex Juvenile pellets which they absolutely love. Red and green pellets. Fairly hard. Excellent growth and no shell problems. This is available on-line in 32 oz. jars that would last your little guys quite a while. I don’t know of any differences betweeen the different diets as far as Juvenile verses adult other than size except for Baby Reptomin (sorry Rick). Baby Reptomin labels say it contains extra calcium. I have used this to start my smallest hatchlings on before swithching them to T-Rex as soon as possible. I also use the ZooMed hatchling diet, but I have had some hatchlings that refused it but would take Reptomin. So, despite the gray scum, I use a little Baby Reptomin (but no adult Reptomin!). If your guys started on ZooMed than maybe you can try adult ZooMed pellets and see if they can tear them apart and stay on that brand, which should be as good as any. It is available in bulk on-line as well as locally at PetsMart and Petco in case you run short. I have just been experimenting with every brand out there, especially those in bulk. So, give several a try and see what works best. Todd day wrote:
