Not growing too fast?

Hi all, I was just comparing the pics from when I first got the terrapins to now and their shells seem to have darkened considerably. Also the like in between the scutes has grown more than the scutes themselves? Am I feeding too much? I know I asked this before but am still uncertain. A before/after pic is being loaded to the photos area of this group so you can see what I am talking about.
