question regarding feeding

i have had my dbt for about 5 months now, and he only eats dried shrimp. I have tried giving him the pellets several times, but he won’t go for them. Whenever I try to feed him only the pellets, he wont eat. I guess that he has more patience than I do, so I give in and give him the shrimp that he loves. Any suggestions on how to remedy the situation? Thanks
