I have the DBT habitat just barely started. Got to get the water temperature stabilized. I will be getting some rocks and plants to arrange a basking site for the new turtle. I’ll need some more snails and small feeders too. I am getting quite anxious to get him. I’ll send photos when the tank is finished. J.M. Judith, sounds like a pristine setup! Be careful with the freshwater snails though – they can carry parasites and hence might be harmful if ingested by your terp. Cheers. -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@y…, “J.M. Moon”
I have 2 Dbt’s that will be 2 years old in April. They are in a 100 gallon tank (half full) with some feeders and 2 algae eaters, 2 snails and 3 or 4 live plants. they seem happy, i’m wondering, when will they mate? and how will i know if the female is pregnant? Any advice is welcome! Thanks — diamondback_terrapin
Be careful with the algae eaters, i have heard of turtles eating them and having internal problems because of the spines and such. Bill G From: gail
