A while ago I wrote about my map turtle (Bunny) allowing me to touch him while he was basking. well now both the DBT (Diamonds) and Bunny are allowing me to put my hands under them while they are in the water and steer them around to various bits of food. It is sooo cool that they allow this instead of paddling away in fright. Judith J.M. Excelent My two Northern juveniles have only been in my possession a month or so but let me scratch the top of their heads while their in the water. I also feed them by hand…mostly freeze dried shrimp. They still dive in the water when I approach the basking spot tho.
