Hi, I am not sure if there is a difference between these bulbs and the “Sunshine” bulbs that GE makes but I saw these in the MArch 2002 Pet Warehouse Aquarium catalog and wonder if they are better than the “Sunshine-full spectrum” bulbs by GE. THe ad says, “THis high quality, all purpose lighting simulates a visible daytime light spectrum using full spectrum fluorescent bulbs perfect for fish & reptiles” It seems that GE is endorsing these as “Reptile” bulbs. THe packaging even has a picture of an iguana on it. And, they are relatively cheap just like the “Sunshine” bulbs. Most likely there is not a difference but the link I posted earlier about the “Sunshine” bulbs said that they were not intended for reptiles. LIke y’all have said, it is probably marketing lingo but who knows. YOu can see a photo of what I am talking about at the bottom of this link: http://www.petsforum.com/allglass/products/other/aquarays.html thanks, Jason __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? They show up under aquarium light bulbs on the Doctors Foster and Smith on-line catalogue for $6.29 for the smaller sizes and $8.39 for the two larger sizes (but not under their reptile lighting, yet, where Reptisuns are on sale for $18.00 to $22.00 plus). A quick search for comparison data to the GE Sunshine bulbs yielded this interesting but very technical lighting web site: http://www.aquabotanic.com/lightcompare.htm. It seems aquarium folks are much more concerned about how their fish and plants look under the various lights in addition to the effects on fish and plant growth. Mmmmm . . . . maybe we just need different lights to get those “blue” terrapin morphs??? Todd Jason Williamson wrote:
