Does anyone know where I can get plastic stock tanks? I’ve already looked at Rubbermaid and Visions. I’m looking for 200+ gallons in an elongated shape(2 x 8 or 3 x 8 ideally). 300 gal. Rubbermaid is too round and Visions will bow. Thanks, Tom
Jonathan HelmsNovember 16, 2002 at 12:07 pm #17964Tom, I get my stock tanks from feed stores. Mine are 110 gallons and are 3 X 4. They are made by Tuff Tanks. I know they make a 160 gallon tank they might make one bigger but I believe they are wider than the Rubbermaid tanks. If you want a narrow and long tank you might need to get a stainless steel stock tank. Tom & Sharon PaquetteNovember 16, 2002 at 1:14 pm #17965I have the same stock tanks that Jonathan has and bought mine also at a feed supply store. I have a couple of each of the 110 & 160 gal. Before buying my last 160 gal I too checked to see if I could get anything larger but that was it. I was told I would have to go to the “galvanized” steel tanks which go up to 980 gals on their 8 foot dia. rounds for around $235.00. The ovals are much more expensive. My only concern would be if you can safely use “galvanized” steel tanks for turtles (fresh water?) I hear conflicting stories. I would love to have one of the 8 foot for a slider pond. I know I could line it with a pond liner and may end up doing just that but wish there was another way. Anyone have any thoughts on this?? Thanks! Have a great day everyone!
