Attachments :Got a call from a friend who does herp distribution. A DBt was dropped off at one of his client’s stores. The herp managers just wanted it to be cared for so I got that honor. Just picked her up. I was expecting a male since they both thought it was. She’s a huge ( ~9″) cheasapeake northern. Dark shell and moustache. Gorgeous! In perfect condition excpet she hasn’t eaten since she was taken from the market 3 months ago. I presume this turtle was taken from a market in NY, since it is illigal to sell turtles for food in Canadian chinese markets. The story is the guy wanted to cook her up, but his kids protested so they kept her in a bucket until she was brought to the pet store. I assume that she was brought into canada illigally. ( due to ingnorance of canadian import laws). So I have her nicely set up in some brackish water. My big question is what is the secret food to get WC anorexic DBT to eat? Thanks Julie Montreal,Quebec

Do they usually take several days to adjust in their new environment before eating? Just offered her some smelt, she was not interrested at all. Ill go pick up some shrimp later. Thanks Julie Jason Williamson wrote:
