Hello, Does anyone use UG filters with their terrapins? I have three set up in a 55-gal. tank with an UG (run with two powerheads) and a Magnum 350 connected to two Biowheels. I’m having trouble keeping the powerheads on, the turtles keep knocking them off. A lot of crud seems to be building up under the UG because of this, although the water is clean and clear and doesn’t smell bad. I’ve looked at the Yahoo site and see lots of photos of terrapins, but none of their set-ups. Thanks, Cindy
Hi Cindy, I don’t know how big your diamondbacks are but I had some ones that were about 4 inches in with a power filter. One day they knocked off the bottom part and one go stuck to the power filter and drowned. I kept resecuring it and even used some tye-warps but they still were able to get it loose and an other one go stuck to it and almost drowned. I haven’t used on since.
