I’ve been trying to build a floating basking area for my tank, and I’ve noticed that no matter what I do, the wood I use always begins to mold over by about the second week, even with weekly water changes, scrubbing, and good filtration. I wanted to ask what suggestions you might give as to either how I can treat the wood so this doesn’t happen any more, or other mediums that work well as a floating platform. Thanks! Apshai

Hi Apshai, Most of us here use cork bark for basking sites which does not mold. -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “apshaiterp”

honestly wood will do that but a good alternative to wood is cork board you can buy it almost anywhere. Please make sure that you wash it good first. i hope that that helps Tina ~~~~~~ (**** Tina ****) ~~~~~~ MSN 8: Get 6 months for $9.95/month.
