wounded turtle

    Hi I have 2 diamondback terrapins . One is 2 years old and one is 1 year old. The older turtle recently bit the little one on the foot. He never did this before. THe little turtle is sick now. He just sleeps and doesn’t eat. I seperated them and now I do not know what to do?? Please help?????? Jackie

    Aggression-induced stress can be fatal so you want to make the environment as stress-free as possible to the 1 yr. old. Perhaps you should remove the 2 yr. old and keep the younger one in its original environment. Increasing the temperature of its environment to ~82F might also help, as well as providing some live animals to jump start its appetite again. Feeder guppies and ghost shrimp are good choices.
