Can anyone recommend a great website or a book(s) on Diamondback Terrapins? I’ve tried a few book searches and keep coming up with a book on Map Turtles & Diamondbacks. I’ve also searched for Diamondback websites. It seems the only ones I can find are either sellers or a generic “aquatic turtles” listings. Does anyone have the book I mentioned above? Is it any good? I can’t believe I can’t find any other titles. I really love my Diamondbacks. I want to provide the best possible environment and learn more about them. I’ve “winterized” all my other turtles and these new babies I’m keeping inside until spring. They seem to be thriving. They dig into the moss and swim around in their “pond.” They eat like pigs too! I haven’t seen much basking, but figured that’s part of their “hatchling” behavior so they won’t get eaten. I would appreciate any help. Thanks. Tortmom Joyce

Hi Joyce! Glad to see you here ~ it’s a great web site and everyone is very helpful with answering questions etc…. Check out the web sites that Stephen has here ~ there are great pics of set ups and show good ways of keeping your new babies. Need to go in and refresh my own memory since it’s been a couple of years since I’ve had any little ones………. My set up can definitely use improving. It works for now since it was such a last minute thing ~ Now if you would of taken all of the babies I wouldn’t need another set up!! LOL! Can’t resist a baby…… Stephen and Jonathan are very active on this list. Vicki ~ the list owner use to be a regular at our meetings…….. Haven’t seen her in years. The color paperback by Mara is the only dbt/map book I know of in print. It’s worth owning for the glossy color pics for the price, but it’s pretty limited on care info. It was published somewhat before captive propagation of dbts expanded in the past few years. Chun has already listed the best two web sites. Reading the archives of this list will actually give you about as much info. as you can find anywhere on the web. Check out these sources and post any questions or topics here to the list and we’ll see if we can help! Todd
