thanks scott… yeah… I kinda remember that too… if the parents were both heterozygous (Cc) then by doing the punnet? square thing… 1/4 would be CC (or chesapeake if chesapeake were dominant), 1/2 would be heterozygous but show the dominant gene as chesapeake, and then 1/4 would be cc (or normal colouration if normal is recessive). now what are the odds that its dominant versus recessive? Sounds like by what you guys are saying it is dominant… due to the odd normal one showing up in true chesapeake breedings. yes. think we’ve got it? but do the numbers match up enough to rule out multiple genes? guess you’d have to know a few generations to really figure it out. knowing it’s dominant though helps. THANKS!! chesapeake babes may be easier to come by if its dominant… *grin* So you’ve found UV steriliztion to be of benefit then. Good to know. I guess with all the variety of food sources one could provide, a good natural healthy gut flora should come anyways. How do you have yours hooked up?
