Hi, thanks for your comments on both the perlite and the moss. I couldn’t find my original post… my hotmail account has been bouncing alot lately it seems. So, thanks Julie for posting for me! I am beginning to wonder if this one lonely egg is fertile. I’ve read that they are supposed to turn whiter and firm up after a couple days. Granted its only been not even 24 hours yet but it hasn’t changed much at all. Perhaps its even pinker?! Could be my eyes… was kinda late last night… dark, and i was pretty ecstatic. I am going to put a light inside a box with a hole in it to try and see through the egg over the hole but i don’t really know what i’m looking for with or without the light. I have no other egg to compare with yet. She definitely has more eggs inside her still… i felt her up again earlier today. She’s been rooting around in the bin again this afternoon… fingers crossed. If anyone can give me some pointers on what a viable egg looks like compared to a non-viable, both with and without the light i would really appreciate it. Once the other eggs make their appearance i’ll have more to compare with i hope. Thanks so much for all your help to date. You guys are great! Michelle
Michelle, I don’t recall your original post?! Anyway, a viable egg will turn chalk white like a chicken egg in about a week so don’t throw it out yet! All the best! -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “abhainnshell”
