    i just inherited a baby diamondback and i am unsure of how to house it.. i have it in a 30 gallon tank in salty water, and he has a turtle dock. i put him in freshwater to feed him every day but am unsure if i am doing this right, and i dont want to hurt him! please tell me if i’m taking proper care of him.. thank you!!     If you live somewhere that’s cool, and the water temperatures under 60 degrees at the moment, you need to get either a water heater, or a heat lamp, which should be placed at one end of the tank, and a “basking site” should be placed under the heat lamp. Unless you live somewhere really cold though, you don’t have to do both. Was the person you inherited the turtle from keeping it in salty water? If not, it’s probably going to be just fine using regular fresh water.
