Hi, I just bought a adult female diamondback terapin at a pet store yesterday, and I just want to learn as much as possible to take good care of her.I have a 55 gal tank set up with about 14in of fresh water(thats what they had her in in the petstore), a “turtle dock” that sticks to the side of the tank and a basking lamp, and a filter. I put some goldfish about 1 1/2 in. long in there for food and I also bought Ciclled pellets for her. I ve heard about feeding them outside the tank but I m not sure how to do this, do I moisten the pellets ?any basic imfo about caring for her would be greatly appriciated. rosewoelfel@… Thank you so much , Rose Celebrate Yahoo!’s 10th Birthday! Hi Rose, You have to feed them in the water, I think (at least mine will only eat food that’s in the water). I have two small ones – rescues from the road – and I take them out and put them in a big tupperware with several inches of water in it when I feed them. They are messy eaters, and this way keeps the filter and tank from getting dirty so fast. When I’m out of town, though, I just have the pet sitter put food right in the tank. Good luck with your new girl! NicoleRose Woelfel
