Has anyone used mangroves for vegi/biological filtration for a DBT setup? I have WC that I keep in brackist water. I’m building a new setup for them … I have a “vat” that is made from plywood lined with pond liner, aproximately 5 feet x 3 x 2 … about 200 gallons. I will have a wet/dry filter as the main filter (20 gallon tank filled with bio-balls … water overflows from the main vat to the 20 gallon, filtered water pumped back into the main vat). I have a spare 30 gallon tank … was thinking of diverting some of the pumped water flow over into this tank so that mangroves can further filter nuitriants from water. Thoughts?

Again, my thoughts on this are pretty much the same as the UVB, you can never have ___too much_ filtration. The only time I recommend less, is with hatchlings because the outflow is just too much for them to get around. With 2 adults, you have plenty of room unless you plan on a 1000gph pump to filter your ___vat_ J Scott TheTurtleStore.com From: diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com [mailto: diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com ] On Behalf Of jeffreyrichardssc Sent: Friday, October 14, 2005 7:05 AM To: diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com Subject: [diamondbackterrapins] Mangroves and DBTs Has anyone used mangroves for vegi/biological filtration for a DBT setup?
