Hey everyone, I have a one year old DBT named Leo and not to long ago under his shell start to get soft. So I took him to the vet. And he said that Leo has shell rot. The doc told me to put antibiotic gel on his shell and dry bock him for at least 2 hours a day. So I did. It started to get better but then when I went to a trip for 2 week and my father was looking after him. When I came back the shell was even softer. Leo is still acting the same way. He is still swimming and eating but I just want to know do anyone know what I can do to stop the shell rot please. Before it get worst.
Giuseppe IndomenicoAugust 22, 2010 at 12:32 am #22817For starters following the doctor___s orders would help a lot.I suggest dry docking for a longer period of time. 2 hours doesn___t seem enough, but I___m no doctor. Then you should convert his tank from freshwater to brackish if it isn___t brackish yet.Good Luck, Joe From: diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com [mailto:diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of francisSent: Sunday, August 22, 2010 12:11 AMTo: diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.comSubject: [diamondbackterrapins] Help with shell rot Hey everyone,I have a one year old DBT named Leo and not to long ago under his shell start to get soft.
