Hello,I have a 4″ male NDB who’s eyes appear puffy. He is still eating but he is listless. He has been sitting out for some time and when he gets back in the water he seems to rub his eyes with the back of his front feet. I see no cloudiness though he seems to not be able to open his eyes all the way. Is there a topical ointment that can help or should I remove him to a dry tank for some time each day. His water is clean and the filter is clean. He is in with 7 other turtles, all of whom are healthy. As I type I wonder if I should isolate him??? His normal diet is Reptomin pellets. They also have greens in the water on occasion. I only leave them in for less than 12 hours at a time so they don’t rot on the water. I also have cuttle bone floating on a regular basis – I can be sure if the affected turtle is eating any or not. Thanks for any feedback,Mark Congruent Counseling Services 410.740.8066 http://www.congruentcounseling.comIntegrative Counseling 410.740.8067 http://www.integrative-counseling.com This e-mail, including any attachments, is confidential and may be legally privileged. He might have a vitamin deficiency, a problem with UVB, or something worse.Try applying cod liver oil with a q-tip and see if that helps. If not then try giving him liquid vitamins. If neither work, take him to a qualified herp vet.
