Babies babies babies!!! Everyone started hatching last night. I have a female that laid 10 eggs (only two were fertile) the thing is that she was pulled from the Chinatown fishmarket as a grown adult over 25 years ago. I have no clue how old she really is but I can confirm that they do reproduce well into there twenties (more like 30’s if you consider that she was a full grown adult 25 years ago) at the very least. The second female laid 10 and nine of those are hatching now. She was the first DBT that I rehabbed from the fishmarkets. I have had her now for over 2 1/2 years and her first 14 months where just an up and down roller coaster of fungal and bacterial skin conditions, septicemia, cysts shellrot the whole works. I had to tube feed her for her first nine months and honestly thought I would never see the day that she would survive and be able to go with the rest of my turtles in the pond. So her reproducing successfully is a real triumph. I’ll post pictures soon. Steve
