I have a Texas Diamondback Terrapin named Hatfield who is about 6 weeks old. He is under uvb and a heat lamp 10 hours a day with a Southern Painted Turtle and an Eastern Painted Turtle both infants all in a 20 gal tank. All are eating reptomin 2x daily well. I noticed that Hatfield started flaking turtle skin off his left jaw/ mandible yesterday. Today he’s flaking from ear to ear. Can someone adivse on any environmental adjustment to help or do TDBT just get ashy like african american people do.
Brooks: 1. check salidity level 2. water temperature (80-85 F) 3. go to the call the exotic vet if all else failsbrooks_clements
Hi, From what I can gather, Hatfield is simply shedding. I guess I’m not familiar with what you’re referring to as “ashy” in reference to African Americans. And as a moderator, I must caution that we refrain from any comments of a questionable/sensitive nature. Thanks. Stephen Chew Moderator — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “brooks_clements”
