brackish water & yawning?

Guys, thanks for the reassurance………I thought I was OK with the low salt mix, I just wanted to make sure once and for all. I do have the 19 tropical fish in with my 2 turtles, so the aquarium/sea salt is supposed to be beneficial for them (as you both have noted). On the yawning front…….I have to agree with the others. Yawning is pretty normal, at least it is for my girl. She almost always yawns (several times) when she first gets up on the basking station. I’ve never noticed her breathing with her mouth opened though. If your DBT is always holding his/her mouth open to breath…….that doesn’t sound good and is probably worth a trip to a good reptile Vet. I took my turtle to the vet… who told me I was correct in thinking he had an infection. She gave him a shot… I might have to take him back on Wednesday for a follow up shot.
