breathing…and frozen food

Does anyone else’s terrapin get an air bubble under its neck when it breathes? Kind of like a frog. I was just wondering if it was a problem because my other turtle never did that. 2nd, How can I get my turtle to start eating frozen foods? He won’t eat any of the frozen stuff and then when I put in the reptomin pellets he eats them all. Anyone else with this problem? I thought it would be the opposite, that he’d rather eat the frozen food than the pellets.
I have some that do the frog neck bubble and others that don’t. More often I notice it when they yawn.
1) Yes. They’ll do that when they breathe sometimes. It’s not unusual. 2) That may be tricky. Reptomin is very tasty food. It’s like telling a kid that they can only eat spinach after being fed chocolate every day: It’s healthier for them, but they won’t be on board. Why do you want to switch to frozen food? While it’s not the best pellet food, Reptomin is decent. Combine it with some Jumbomin from time to time and some fresh fish, and your turtle will be doing fine. Also, it’s amusing to watch them hunt the fish… Guppies are good when the turtle is small, but once they can graduate to larger foods, they may have an easier time seeing and catching Rosy Reds.
