Additional turtle health question

Hi Again, Regarding the vet appointment, they said my turtle might need some bloodwork, since this is his initial evaluation. Is this also standard? I am a little afraid. I don’t want him to get hurt. Also, if I do keep the appointment should I not put him in his tank for a few days while the needle part heals? I didn’t want anything to get in there that might infect him or anything. They said the appointment would last like 2 or 3 hours.. I am afraid to call them back until I hear from a knowledgeable person from this group. Thank you so much for all your help!
