Attachments :My adult female is from the Chinese market in Toronto , Canada. She was purchased not by myself, about 3 years ago.I have had to do major rehab work on her since i purchased her. Since then, I have been scanning both the Toronto and Montreal chinese food markets searching to rescue more.Unfortunately I had no sucess. I say unfortunately because since new importation laws have been in place, I believe the markets must now hide the specimens they have for sale since it is illigal to sell live turtles in the markets. I am caucasian so they believed that i am going to report them and they deny that they ever had turtles for sale. Hopefully, these places are no longer supplying live turtles, but I doubt this very much since eating turtles is a strong part of asian culture. The chinese have have almost eating my beloved chinese box turtles to extinction in china. There is a season for finding turtles in the markets.I belive it is between the chinese New Year, and spring. We should start to see a saturation of the market of baby diamondbacks because many will purchse gravid females from themarkets, collect their eggs and let the female die since they are in such bad shape. I have attached a picture of my adult female. Julie Montreal,Quebec http://www.chelonian.net Jonathan wrote:
