Looks like you got a very good deal on your Hamper hatchling. Thanks for the show report! I agree with Chun that your female (on the left) has characterisitics of carolinians. It’s tough to differentiate once their original location is lost. I’ve talked to a fellow in Norfolk, Virginia, who reported that his backyard area had intergrades of carolina and northerns as well as “pure” stock of each. He said they mixed naturally and we also know that commercial shipping and impounding for the food trade circa 1900 mixed all of the subspecies in the Maryland area and likely elsewhere.
