I am sad to say that i just recently lost my buddy of six years to either a heartless idiot or a very strong seagull. My diamond back has been outside in a large deep tank that was partially covered for over a month with hardly ever a problem. She was about 6 inches long with great strength. Does it seem possible for a seagull to pick up a turtle like that? Im also wondering if someone came into my backyard and took her (I live on a lagoon with many boaters passing by with view of my turtle) All i know is that im heart broken and can’t figure out what happened.
I am sorry to hear of your loose. I would suspect a raccoon. Those horrible animals have taken terrapins from several people in our group and I know many people that aren’t in our group that have had the same problem with raccoons. I don’t think a seagull would have been able to pick her up. Do you think it is possible that she could have jumped out? I know mine have gotten out of their tub when I had too much water in the tub.
