The only question on the FAQ list that I have any experience with is the last, when my female DBT developed a brownish look to her feet. And in her case, she was simply going into a shed, and was being kept on a sand substrate at the time. The sand became stuck under her scales during her constant digging in it, and was possibly in the early stages of becoming a problem. Since removing the sand, there have been no more signs of “browning scales.” As for Robin, all I can say is, get your tank clear of the window. Most fish tanks even come with instructions that warn to keep tanks out of direct sunlight to avoid the build up of algae. Peroxide seems to work well for killing it on a turtles shell, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work on the enclosure. Just make sure you throughly rinse anything that you use the Hydrogen peroxide on before you fill the tank with water again, and add turtles. The stuff is obviously powerful.. Anything that makes smoke when applied can’t be good if ingested, or gotten into eyes.
