Robin, I use a regular garden hose to drain out my indoor tanks. It normally takes about ten minutes to drain to 70 tank. Then I use the hose to fill it back up again. Since I live in L.A. during the summer the tap water is about 70 degrees. I than add a couple five gallon buckets of hot water to warm it up a little bit. While the tank is emptying out I clean out the filters. It normal takes me about 40 minutes to empty, clean out, and refill the 70 gallon tank. As for my outdoor tubs, I connect a hose to the output of my pondmaster filter and pump the water out. One of my filters pumps 700 gallons an hour, so it only takes a few minutes to empty. Then I scrub the tub out to get rid of any algae and fill backup with the hose. Normally this only takes 30 minutes or so. Hope this helps. Jonathan http://www.geocities.com/diamondbackterrapins P.S. I do have pictures of most of my tanks on my website, if you want to get a better feeling for what my tanks look like.
