Well, if you’re not sick of hearing about my sick turtle, here’s an update. SHE’S STARTING TO LOOK BETTER (of course, she couldn’t have looked any worse). They took some cultures and and the results are due back tomorrow but in the meantime, she has been getting Baytril injections daily. She might be switched to a different antibiotic when the results come back. The former veterinarian gave her oral baytril and the new one thought that was pretty ineffective. She still floats in the water but now she can lift her head again– still doesn’t move her legs much (though much more than before). I’ve taken this time to really clean up her shell. She was also force fed some Gerber Beef and Vegetables (We thought the vitamin A might help her since she refuses to eat anything). Yuk–no wonder my son never liked that stuff when he was a baby! The vet injected her with some stuff to rehydrate her.I still don’t know if she’ll make it, but it is looking ore optimistic–with all of the $$$ I’ve spent so far, I hope she does!!!!! As for a chemical analysis of the water…we’re psychology professors, so our grad students will only be able to tell if someone put Prozac in the water (-; Rowena
