Has anyone had problems with submergible heaters being broken by their dbts? I have had this happen and so to prevent it I get a piece of pvc pipe aprox. 2″ in diameter and drill alot of large holes in it. I then place the heater inside the pvc pipe and wire it in place with the control at the end so that I can moniter the setting. I have not had a heater break since. I think when my males were chasing my large females the girls banged against the glass and it broke. Not a happy thing when it is still plugged in. 🙁 Vickie
