I keep mine in entirely fresh water. I have had occaisonal problems with hatchlings with fungus and I soak them in a fish fungicide by Jungle and it usually knocks it right out. Once they’re established, I put them in outdoor ponds with other turtles. It gets “pondie” and I still haven’t had problems. In fact they’ve laid eggs for the last 2 years, which hatch out to lovely babies. That’s 3rd generation captive born! And those babies never show any fungus problems or any other problems. My males seem to have maxed out at 5 inches or less and my females maybe 7 or 8 inches. -Rick Van Dyke JP Arsenault wrote:
