I have my copy of Dr. Peter C. H. Pritchard’s “Encyclopedia of Turtles” in hand: Page 265 features two color photos of DBTs. The lower photo of the heads of four terrapins pointing toward the center of a circled grouping is labeled: “Heads of four ornate diamondback terrapins, Malaclemys (sic) terrapin tequesta, all from Merritt Island , Florida. Photo by Dr. Llewelyn Ehrhart.” So, was the dealer selling tequestas to justify Pritchard’s use of “ornate?” ๐ Todd Chun-Ming Chew wrote:
