I have been considering adding a pond to my backyard for the purpose of keeping turtles, however I don’t want to be in the business of feeding raccoons. Just how far does one have to go to protect turtles from raccoons if they are to be kept outdoors? All my landscaping is earmarked for the local deer so the thought of providing turtles for the local raccoons is terribly unappealing. I remember the extreme lengths people had to go to keep raccoons out of their trash so I don’t figure to be able to effectively keep them out of a pond if that is where they wish to be.
